Hope for the Holidays
In December 2025, the Tess Foundation, in partnership with the Asian American Peace Officer Association (AAPOA), hosted a special holiday shopping experience designed to support children impacted by tragic car crashes.
With Walmart serving as our generous host location, and the support of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Harris County Constable Precinct 1, Houston Police Department, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, and MADD Texas, the morning was filled with compassion, community, and connection.
Together, we served 24 children who lost a parent or sibling in a roadway crash. Each child received $200 to shop for gifts, helping bring a little extra joy during the Christmas season.
This event reflects the heart of our mission — standing beside families after unimaginable loss and reminding them that their community walks with them, especially during the holidays.
Christmas in July: Shop with a Cop
In July 2025, The Tess Foundation proudly hosted its first ever community event, Shop with a Cop, in partnership with the Asian American Peace Officer Association, Alief ISD, and Walmart.
With the support of Pct. 4 and 5 Constables, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and a team of dedicated volunteers, we provided school supplies and encouragement to 17 students who have been personally impacted by roadway crashes or violent crime as they prepare for the new school year.
This event was about more than back-to-school shopping. It was about reminding young survivors that they are not alone and that their community stands beside them with love, support, and hope.
